Barcelona Citizen Science Office
The Barcelona Citizen Science Office is the City Council's multidisciplinary platform for the promotion of citizen science and collective learning based on experience and good practices.
'Citizen science' refers to scientific research that actively involves non-specialists. Everyone has knowledge, tools and resources that can contribute to the advancement of science and can therefore be involved in some of its processes, from the formulation of hypotheses to the analysis of data and the production of results.
Many research projects use citizen participation to broaden the scope of their research. In this context, the office supports citizen science projects taking place in Barcelona and its metropolitan area.
