Obstetric Coevolution
Obstetric Coevolution explores the relationship between obstetric practices and maternal mental health. Its aim is twofold. First, to co-evolve obstetrics and improve the birth experience and, second, to reduce the impact of mental health problems in the post-partum period.
During 2023, the project identified five major challenges and co-created four possible solutions with mothers and childbirth professionals. A direct link between obstetric practices and mental health was also identified through a survey.
In 2024, the project launches a second phase aimed at advancing the solutions co-created in the first phase. Thus, a post-partum meeting protocol will be co-created to carry out a return, a closure and develop a tool that can collect data from these experiences; an Eduhackató will be held to co-create new educational resources that work on aspects of sexual and reproductive health in the classroom; and the dissemination of the needs of mothers will be promoted through the new season of the podcast Transmedia_Lab Mandarina.
