Science and citizenship
Society has ceased to be a spectator of science and has become a protagonist of research and innovation. The new references are oriented towards the democratisation of science and knowledge, and towards concepts such as Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI), open science and citizen science, in which dissemination plays a fundamental role.
From this point of view, Barcelona Science and Innovation organises and supports programmes, projects and activities aimed at different audiences and, in particular, is committed to placing knowledge and science at the centre of the cultural proposals of a city that is one of the European poles of scientific research and technological innovation. A large part of this offer is developed in the network of local spaces made up of libraries, civic centres and environmental facilities where, through a participative and informative offer, science is made available to everyone and its processes are democratised.
