BioBlitzBcn
BioBlitz are initiatives that arise from the need to carry out biodiversity inventories or monitoring studies, and which require a great deal of fieldwork and citizen participation.
BioBlitzBcn emerged as an initiative of the University of Barcelona and Barcelona City Council in 2010 with the aim of increasing knowledge of Barcelona's urban biodiversity and making citizens more aware of the need for its conservation. The activity consists of two open days of naturalistic prospecting with scientists who are experts in different biological groups, in which anyone interested can participate. The results obtained enrich the census of the biological diversity of the city of Barcelona.
