Devices

The SDEA has several measuring devices and optical devices that can be used for hands-on learning at schools and organisations in order to better understand cross-cutting topics such as noise, air and energy pollution.

Below you’ll find all the information you need about the measuring devices.

In case of loss or damage to the materials, the responsible center, entity, or person must cover the cost of replacement. In the event of damage to the devices, they will be responsible for the costs incurred for the necessary repairs.

CESVA SC Sound Level Meters
Description: class 2 sound level meter that allows instant readings of measured noise. Decibels measured with A-weighting (dBA) every second.
Measures parameters: LAF, LAS and maximum value.
Models: CESVA SC-2; CESVA SC-2c; CESVA SC-20.
Target audience: primary and secondary education.
Available units: 17 sound level meters.

Mesures parameters: LAF, Leq and maximun value.

Description: class 2 sound level meter that allow instant and average readings of measured noise. Decibels measured with A, C and Z frequency weighting. Calculates statistical data with maximum, minimum and percentile values. It allows downloading data to a computer and converting them to different formats (.txt, .xls, .mdb).
Mesures parameters: LAF (maximum/minimum), LAS (maximum/minimum), LAI (maximum/minimum), LAT (maximum/minimum), LAE (peak).
Models: CESVA SC 160

Description: light scattering laser photometer that measures aerosol contaminants (dust, smoke, gases and vapors). Includes CD with TRAKPRO V4.6.1 software for data processing.
Mesures parameters: aerosol concentrations corresponding to PM1, PM2.5, respirable, PM10 and Total PM size fractions.

Air velocity measuring equipment AIRFLOW TA465
Description: multifunctional carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide meter. Includes CD with LogDat2 for data processing.
Mesures parameters: CO, CO2, temperature, relative humidity and static pressure.
Model: AIRFLOW TA465.
Target audience: secondary education, vocational training cycles, high school and university.

Multi-Head Monitor Aeroqual
Only one monitor with an N02 head is available. The other devices are on loan from the Escoles+Sostenibles program.

Description: Handheld monitor with multiple gas sensor heads (nitrogen dioxide and ozone) and particle sensors (2.5 and 10 PPM). Measurement units ppm or mg/m³.
Mesures parameters: NO2, O3, PM2,5 and PM10.
Models: Aeroqual Series 200 base monitor / sensor head type 1 (NO2 and O3) / sensor head - particulate matter (PM).
Target audience: primary education, secondary education, vocational training cycles, and high school.

Light Meters
Description: digital light meter. Allows sensor rotation from 90° to 270°.

Wattmeters
Description: digital power meter that determines the energy consumption of a connected device and the cost of the electricity consumed.
Mesures parameters: voltage, frequency, current, power factor, power (minimum and maximum), kWh logging, hour, date, and electricity expenses.
Models: KWE-PMB01.
Target audience: primary education, secondary education, vocational training cycles, and high school.
Available units: 9 wattmeters.

Briefcase with energy measurement devices
Descripció: hygrometer, light meter, thermometer, wattmeter, and desktop charger with two batteries.

Temporarily unavailable due to loans from the Schools + Sustainable program.

Description: portable digital microscope with magnification ranging from 40x to 1000x. Samples observed are displayed on a computer, tablet, or mobile device via a USB cable. Compatible with Android phones and tablets, as well as Mac, Windows XP 7 8 10 11, Linux, and Chrome OS.
