Spaces of commitment
More Sustainable Barcelona offers different spaces of commitment depending on the degree of involvement to which each organisation can commit.
The spaces are dynamic: the members of the MSB Network can move through the spaces according to the degree of involvement they can commit to at any time.
The three areas of commitment are explained below: "Let’s Connect" "Ready for Action" and "Let's Lead":
Let’s Connect
This is the space for all organisations that are committed to undertaking actions to contribute to improving sustainability from their territory and sphere of activity and that want to join the network, stay informed and learn about other experiences. In short, it is for organisations that sign the More Sustainable Barcelona Citizen Commitment and begin to operate within the Network.
In order to join the “Let’s Connect” space, you have to be a member of the MSB Network. To join it, you have to attend a welcome session and sign the More Sustainable Barcelona Citizen Commitment.
This space is accessed at the time of signing the More Sustainable Barcelona Citizen Commitment. Therefore, whenever the organization is a signatory of the Commitment and, therefore, a member of the MSB Network, it will be part of this space.
Organisations in the “Let’s Connect” space will have:
- Communication resources: newsletters, information of interest, visibility on the More Sustainable Barcelona Map and the More Sustainable Barcelona member logo.
- Personalised advice and technical support via telephone, email and in-person or online gatherings.
- Participation in the Network’s activities and training.
- Support tools: online PAS tool to diagnose and propose sustainability actions, environmental kit.
- Economic incentives: higher score on assessments for climate subsidies (in Catalan).
- Other resources: cession of space, space for donated materials, etc.
Ready for Action
This is the space for organisations that have signed the Commitment and are ready to take action. That is, they are making changes within their organisation and report on them to contribute to the city’s main challenges. They also share the actions and projects they undertake.
In order to join the “Ready for Action” space, you have to be a member of the MSB Network and publish a Sustainability action on the decidim.barcelona platform (in Catalan).
Organizations submitting Sustainability actions will be part of this space for one calendar year, starting from the publication of the Sustainability Action.
Annually, a space will be opened on the decidim.barcelona (in Catalan) platform to collect all the completed Actions. This space will remain open from January 1st of the current year to March 31st of the following year.
Organisations in the “Ready for Action” space will have the same resources available to them as those in the “Let’s Connect” space, plus:
- Communication resources: visibility of their Sustainability actions via the More Sustainable Barcelona channels.
- Possibility of presenting their experiences at events like Fem Xarxing, World Environment Day and experience exchange events.
- Economic incentives: up to 20% discount off the public charge for commercial waste collection and ability to request Zone Green Points user cards.
- Other resources: limited-edition publications, specific support resources for specific actions (Kit "Com has vingut?" to count mobility emissions, compost and mulch for the vegetable garden, etc.).
Let’s Lead
This is the space for organisations that have signed the Commitment and stand out for their experience and knowledge, making them influencers for other organisations and to promote collective action.
In order to join the “Let’s Lead” space, you have to be a member of the MSB Network and willing to serve as a role model. Organisations on the Citizen Council for Sustainability and those that participate in working groups and committees and organisations that drive the collective challenges and promote other organisations’ action may be part of this space.
The organizations will be part of this space until December 31st of the year in which the activity they contribute to concludes.
Organisations in the “Let’s Lead” space will have the same resources available to them as those in the “Ready for Action” space, plus:
- Communication resources: priority in disseminating their actions and projects via active participation in conferences, the media and visits from institutional delegations, among others.
- Participation: driving and leading the city’s priority challenges, collaborating as experts at major events (panel discussions, lectures, debates, etc.) and participation in follow-up commissions for City Council projects.
