Become part of the More Sustainable Commerce Network

Those interested in joining More Sustainable Commerce must do the following:

  1. Attend a Network welcome session.
  2. Sign on to the More Sustainable Barcelona Citizen Commitment, the reference framework for organisations in the Network. 
  3. Specify how they will contribute to the Commitment

  • The More Sustainable Commerce programme is for all commercial and professional organisations (shopping districts, guilds and professional and other associations) in Barcelona, as well as all their members, who are carrying out sustainability initiatives.

  • By signing the More Sustainable Barcelona Citizen Commitment, organisations and individuals commit to contribute to improving Barcelona’s sustainability and to sharing their initiatives with their fellow members for mutual inspiration.

  • Each organisation’s degree of involvement in the More Sustainable Barcelona Network will depend on its capacity. The More Sustainable Commerce programme offers different commitment opportunities depending on what each organisation can or wishes to do at any time.

  • Interested organisations must register for a Welcome session and sign the More Sustainable Barcelona Citizen Commitment.

  • Economic and professional agents associated with a retail association, guild or professional association must contact that organisation to find out whether it has signed on to the More Sustainable Barcelona Citizen Commitment.  The list of members can also be found on the B+S Map.

    If their organisation is a member of the More Sustainable Barcelona Network, they can join in the sustainability initiatives that it’s proposing or encourage it to submit one. If the organisation is not a member of the Network, they can suggest that it join. 

    Economic and professional agents who are not members or who want to do more for sustainability can sign the Commitment individually and carry out their own sustainability initiatives. To do so, they must register for a Welcome session.  

  • Organisations can join the Network at no cost to them. Access to all the activities, training, advice, participatory spaces and other resources is free of charge. 

  • The More Sustainable Barcelona Citizen Commitment 2024-2034 is a strategic document that aims to inspire and serve as a framework for all organisations and people who want to contribute to social and environmental improvements in the city. It is the result of a thorough analysis and a wide-ranging participatory process.
