24/11/2022

17:00 - 18:30

After three years of work by the Zero Plastic Table and one of the elaboration of the Barcelona Zero Plastic Commitment, Barcelona City Council continues to work on the effective reduction of disposable plastic in the city, with the aim of moving towards a healthier society and committed to the future.

For this reason, the event A year of the Barcelona Zero Plastic Commitment was organized, a session to celebrate the work done to which the evolution and future of this framework of work will be explained.

The event had the following interventions:

  • Welcome by Eloi Badia, Councilor for Ecological Transition and Climate Change
  • Talk with experts:
    • Cristina Romera, oceanographer and researcher at the Institute of Marine Sciences of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC)
    • Anna Peña, communication director of the Rezero Foundation
    • Nil Damià, responsible for the Paka project
  • Evolution and continuity of the Commitment by Eduard Moreno and Laura Reñaga from the management of the Environment and Urban Service, Barcelona City Council.

The Barcelona Zero Plastic Commitment aims to visualize the initiatives to reduce disposable plastic existing in the city, as well as encourage other organizations to join in to face the culture of using and throwing away and achieving a city free of plastics.

In this first year, the Commitment has added initiatives from about 200 organizations from very diverse sectors: administration, trade, education, parties and events, health, catering and hospitality or tourism and awareness, among others, but we want many more. For this reason we ask you to broadcast through your channels.
