Open science
Open science is research based on transparency, collaboration and accessibility to data at all stages of the process for reuse, redistribution and replication.
The concept represents a paradigm shift in the way science is done, where the formulation of hypotheses, experimental design, data collection and obtaining results and conclusions are done for and with society.
Within this framework, Barcelona City Council promotes scientific repositories open to all citizens with the aim of disseminating, in a clear and precise way, the results of research into different areas of knowledge. The main reference resource is Barcelona City Council's Open Knowledge Repository, BCNROC, which publishes studies, reports and scientific documents generated by Barcelona Science and Innovation in a form accessible to all.
