This research is based on criminological evidence that shows that the community plays a key role in the post-penitentiary reintegration process, as it is the one that provides the necessary services to make reintegration possible, such as work, support network and social assistance. The project is based on a qualitative and participatory methodology using two main research techniques: interviews and focus groups with prisoners who are undergoing their reintegration process in Barcelona, and with agents and professionals in the post-penitentiary field in the city. In addition, participatory action techniques will be used to draw up the circuit of resources and services for post-penitentiary assistance in Barcelona and the recommendations of the report, and artistic and visual expression techniques (such as photography and illustration) to complement the approach to the experiences of prisoners on their return to the community. The project aims to provide knowledge about the circuit of services and resources available in the city of Barcelona, as well as those that are lacking, and the experiences (in particular, the obstacles and opportunities) that expressed people have in accessing them. This knowledge will be presented in different products: a website with an interactive map of services and resources, frequently asked questions and information and data on the process of post-prison reintegration by ex-offenders and the public, an academic article and a technical report with specific public policy recommendations, and a day of dissemination of results with agents involved in post-prison care.
