Barcelona as a biocity: the use of microcosms for the study of urban ecosystems.
The effects of climate change are becoming more and more evident, and its causes are accelerating. The link between biodiversity and community health shows that we are at the point of rethinking Barcelona as a biocity. We now know that the soil microbiome is the key structure that maintains that of natural ecosystems. Can we, inspired by studies of arid and degraded ecosystems, increase and protect their biodiversity?
