INDEPENDENT LIVES
Infrastructures for independent living: participatory research to rethink housing, care and community in times of pandemic
The project aims to investigate, in a participatory and intersectional way, how innovative care infrastructures have been reconfigured in the context of Covid-19. The proposal addresses the challenge for Barcelona to articulate and facilitate infrastructures that are in line with the principles of independent living and that are conceived from an ethic of care. The objectives of the project are to be achieved through the development and analysis of three case studies adapted to the types of groups targeted: the elderly, people with functional and physical diversity, and people with intellectual disabilities. The study proposes a methodology that allows the design and articulation of new strategies for the promotion and development of housing alternatives that improve the lives of the groups involved.
