HABITAS
Housing and health in times of pandemic and beyond
The project aims to identify the variables that constitute healthy housing in the AMB with reference to international health risk standards, and thus address the challenge of increasing community access to healthy housing, of accentuated importance in time of pandemic. Some of the urban challenges linked to the proposal are the need for rehabilitation of existing housing stock, residential inequality and vulnerability in neighbourhoods and air pollution, among others. The objective of HABITAS is to be achieved through the analysis of different residential typologies, conducting semi-structured interviews with residents and monitoring air quality. With the results obtained, a practical ventilation guide and a geo-referenced map will be produced to provide urban planning results and serve as a basis for public policy recommendations.
