The project aims to develop a model for integrated management of surface, groundwater and reclaimed water resources in the Baix Besòs, to address the water self-sufficiency of the AMB in a context of climate change. This objective is to be achieved by studying the feasibility of using water resources from different sources to carry out managed recharge in the Baix Besòs aquifer, in order to estimate the amount of resources available. The methodology includes the development of a numerical model of solute flow and transport. The water management model software is expected to serve as a decision-making tool for Barcelona.
