Strengthening the impact of public spaces to improve health and wellbeing in Barcelona: an intersectional feminist approach
The project aims to improve the impact of public spaces to achieve better health and wellbeing in Barcelona. The proposal addresses the challenge of understanding the new relationships between public spaces and health equity, focusing the study on women and other marginalised gender groups, and their interaction with a city in a pandemic context undergoing processes of gentrification and touristification. FEMPUBLIC plans to carry out two case studies comparing the pre- and during-Covid-19 situations in the Barceloneta and San Antonio neighbourhoods. The study will be approached from an intersectional feminist perspective and will include the residents of the neighbourhoods in the project through a participatory and co-creative process.
