Optical nanotechnology for rapid diagnosis of sexually transmitted infections.
With the exponential growth of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) such as chlamydia and gonorrhoea among the younger population, there is a need to improve and speed up early detection of these diseases. DIGITS will implement a new diagnostic technology, based on nanophotonics, which will enable rapid and decentralised urinalysis and facilitate effective screening of the population, especially young women.
