The call for outreach proposals for the upcoming 2025 Science Festival is now open
The next edition of the Science Festival will take place from the 31st of may until the 1st of june of 2025. This science communication event is aimed at the general public and relies on the essential participation of the local scientific community.
The 18th edition of the Science Festival will be held in 2025, with the goal of once again serving as a major meeting space to promote scientific vocation, engage with the world of research, and enjoy two days of knowledge.
The Science Festival will once again be held at the Born Cultural and Memorial Centre, with plans to also schedule activities at the Greenhouse and the Martorell Exhibition Center in the Ciutadella Park, serving as the city’s science park and part of the “Ciutadella Knowledge Hub” project. In this way, the event will include both indoor activities and those that can be carried out in the urban space, which is essential for providing visibility to such a large-scale public celebration.
The activities of the Science Festival will take place on the weekend of May 31 and June 1, 2025, although the event will officially kick off on Friday, May 30, with the conclusion of the Citizen Science Office projects in schools.
Quantum technology, climate change, and sustainability are among the main themes for the upcoming
The 18th edition will coincide with the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology, as declared by the United Nations. It will also mark the International Year of Glacier Conservation, as well as the fifth year of the Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021-2030).
Other topics such as drought, the world of numbers and data, astronomy and space exploration, nanotechnology, the maker movement, the intersection of art and science, and scientific illustration will also feature prominently in many of the activities.

All entities and research centers wishing to participate by offering activities at the upcoming festival can submit their proposals until January 12, 2025, via the form.
