Financial support: More Sustainable Schools awards
Every year there is a set of awards for schools that submit a sustainability project under the More Sustainable Schools programme. Their aim is to provide schools at all stages and levels of education with resources for a one- or three-year action plan.

This procedure must be carried out by all schools in the network wishing to receive financial support:
- The following awards will be granted to one-year projects for academic year 2024-2025:
- Five awards of €1,000 each*
- Twenty awards of €600 each*
- One hundred secondary awards of €400 each
- Honourable mentions of €200 each
- The following awards will be granted to three-year projects** in academic years 2024-2027:
- Five awards of €2,400 each
- Forty-five awards of €1,800 each
* Schools that were awarded €600 or €1,000 in financial support in academic years 2021-22, 2022-23 or 2023-24 are only eligible for a secondary award or an honourable mention
** Available only to schools that have attended the training course on “How to carry out a three-year project”.
Attention!
If you are a new centre in the Sustainable Schools + network or there has been a change of bank details, once the definitive resolution of the awards has been published, you need to do the procedure of designation of the bank account so that the treasury can make the payment.
Calls for applications and rules
The required documentation consists of two documents, both of which must be signed by the head teacher of the school:
1. Application document for the Sustainable Schools + 2024 Awards 2024.
Basic document 1: Application document (.PDF). Signed by the head teacher.
2. More Sustainable Schools Project
Presentation of the project in PDF format using the project editor. Signed by the head teacher.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Correctly choose the type of Sustainable Schools project, annual (improvement or continuity), three-yearly.
Close the report for the academic year 2023-2024 before applying for financial support. Once closed, the project editor will let you do the project for the following school year.
Recommendation: before saving section 3.1 of the editor, copy the text to an external file on your computer. Once you have checked that it has been saved correctly, you can also generate a draft (this option can be found in the "Tools" section).
The two completed documents must be submitted through the Barcelona City Council Procedures Portal. To access the procedure you must have a digital certificate.

Applications can be submitted from 3 June to 12 July 2024.
During the first quarter of the academic year, the provisional resolution will be published in the BOPV, followed by the definitive one.
