Perspective and dialogue: Islamophobia in the streets of Barcelona
- Where
- Catalonia Square
The proposed activity is designed to gather public opinion directly from the streets of Barcelona on a highly topical issue today: Islamophobia.
The proposal is based on three lines of action:
- Debate. By setting up a table and chairs on the street, passersby will be encouraged and invited to engage in a conversation about Islamophobia. If a significant level of interaction is observed, discussion topics will be proposed (addressing social, cultural and historical perspectives) by a moderator from the group. Fragments will be recorded to document the event.
- Opinion. A space will be created for posting and sharing opinions about Islamophobia, Islam, racism and discrimination using sticky notes. These opinions will also be documented for the record.
- Survey. Entre Joves is working on a survey project to gather public opinion on various topics, including the integration of the Muslim community into Catalan society, feelings of inclusion and experiences of prejudices. During this event, a pilot survey will be launched to assess and analyse the effectiveness of the questions and responses, as well as to determine the most effective methodology to employ.
