A day with artist and activist Angélica Dass. In the Educating City, let’s deactivate racism
Exhibition from December 9 to 11 outside the UNESCO Global Forum against Racism and Discrimination, Barcelona International Convention Center (CCIB)
- Where
- Blau Museum
The activity consists of three parts:
1.- An outdoor photography exhibition that is part of the “Humanae” project, featuring various portraits of people’s faces that highlight the diversity of human beings.
2.- Self-portrait workshop: “Flesh colour?”, for technicians, educators and painting and photography teachers, under the guidance of Angélica Dass. An artistic project that seeks to encourage reflection on equality within diversity.
The workshop seeks to reflect on skin colours associated with races: yellow, white, black, and red. It not only offers a fun way for each person to explore their skin colour, but also challenges the concept of the “flesh-coloured” pencil.
3.- Talk: : “A day with artist and activist Angélica Dass. In the Educating City, let’s deactivate racism”, which focuses on the powerful educational tool of photography and art for reflection and social change. Her approach focuses on deconstructing and rethinking the concept of race, demonstrating that it is a social construct, and inviting the audience to see one another as human beings.
There will be a space where the audience can share their reflections on the power of education to transform anti-racist perspectives and appreciate diversity. This material will condensed into an educational video.
A visual summary of the ideas explored with Angélica Dass will be created.
