Sardana dancing. Cobla La Principal del Llobregat

The Agrupació Cultural Folklòrica Barcelona (ACFB) has played a key role in promoting Sardana dancing since 1922, and has a long history of organising local dance events. These have been taking place in Plaça Sant Jaume since 1950, and from 2010 also in the Pla de la Catedral on Sundays and public holidays in the mornings.

The ACFB will be organising Sardana dancing in Plaça de Sant Jaume on the afternoon of 23 September. This is an activity that everyone’s welcome to take part in, making it a perfect opportunity to enjoy Catalonia’s traditional dance.

La Principal del Llobregat, a cobla with a long history, will be providing the music for the event. Created in 1929, La Principal del Llobregat received the Creu de Sant Jordi in 2004 in commemoration of their 75th anniversary, firmly establishing the group as a key point of reference in traditional Catalan music.
