Mallorcan dancers and creators Mariona Jaume and Maya Triay are coming to Barcelona for the first time to present S'Albufera[The Lagoon], a work that questions the relationship between people and the natural world around us.

With director Natàlia Menéndez's outside perspective and original music by Clara Fiol (Marala), the performers use the language of contemporary dance to explore the lagoon ecosystem, but as a figment of their sensory imagination rather than as a physical place.

S'Albufera is a natural setting in which they walk, live and share the space with others, becoming blurred with their surroundings. Although the place itself is fictitious, they successfully use the medium of dance to connect with it and perceive its sounds, smells and shapes. This work is an ode to natural beauty and respect for the environment.
