11ONZE [11ELEVEN] is a project by Vero Cendoya that owes its existence to the "Balla'm un llibre" initiative, a series of short choreographies based on literary texts. The work uses dance to explore J.M. Espinàs' universe by focusing on two of his most famous books: “El teu nom és Olga” [Your Name is Olga] and “I la festa segueix” [And the Party Continues]. Its aim is to celebrate people's differences while building on J.M. Espinás' efforts to normalise people with Down syndrome. This piece seeks to interpret and introduce the public to the author's literature, which is both simple and forceful and full of humorous thoughts and memories.
It was created to be interpreted in the spaces of public libraries in Catalonia as part of Balla'm a book, an initiative of the Department of Culture and the APdC (Associació de Professionals de la Dansa de Catalunya).
