Contemporary dance
Sol Vázquez, Raquel Gualtero and Pilar Rodríguez Catón present this contemporary dance piece created under the "Balla’m un llibre" initiative and inspired by Carme Riera's 1975 novel “Te deix amor, la mar com a penyora” [I Leave You, My Love, the Sea as a Token].
Salades [Salty] explores the feeling of pure, true love beyond the barriers of age and gender, bearing in mind how its expression can be censored by the inflexibility of some environments. The work encourages viewers to reflect on the role of love in society and the injustice to which it is often subjected as a result of restrictive and discriminatory social norms. A tribute to diversity in love and the freedom to love.
It was created to be interpreted in the spaces of public libraries in Catalonia as part of Balla'm un llibre [Dance a Book] an initiative of the Department of Culture and the APdC (Associació de Professionals de la Dansa de Catalunya).
