In this Bell ringing and the parade of the Mercè entourage, the Gòtic will be waking up to the sound of bells, thanks to the Amics i Amigues del Campanar del Pi association. The bells of the La Mercè Basilica will ring out in the traditional way, thanks to the use of the old Catalan bell-ringing technique.

At the same time, those taking part in the procession will be filling the space with rhythm and dancing. And when the bells fall silent, it’ll be time for the Seguici de la Mercè procession that will parade through the streets from the Plaça de La Mercè to the Plaça Sant Jaume.

Led by the Capgrossos Macers, the procession will include the Giants of the City, the Cavallets Cotoners, the Eagle, the Lion, the Mulassa, the Ox, the Dragon, the She-dragon, the Serene Dragon and the Giants of El Pi and Santa Maria del Mar, who’ll be keeping things lively with flabiols, grallas, dulzainas and percussion instruments.
