Bernice M. Murphy
Bernice M. Murphy is a lecturer in popular literature at the Trinity College of Dublin’s School of English. An expert in Shirley Jackson’s works, she’s published numerous books and articles on American Gothic fiction and horror narratives. She edited the essay collection Shirley Jackson: Essays on the Literary Legacy, was an academic consultant for The Letters of Shirley Jackson and is one of the of founders of Reading Shirley Jackson in the Twenty-First Century. Author of the award-winning monograph The California Gothic in Fiction and Film, she is the co-editor (together with Clare Clarke) of the forthcoming Cambridge Companion to True Crime, and is preparing a new book about Jackson.
