Activity finished
Motherhood is a transformative experience but for many racialised mothers this stage of life is accompanied by additional challenges linked to structural and social racism. This event will provide a space to explore and shed light on how racism impacts the experience of motherhood in various aspects, from healthcare and support during pregnancy to the education of children and the reinforcement of identity in a diverse context.
Through an open and honest discussion, the event will address tools, strategies, and support networks developed by various racialised mothers to confront and resist these challenges. The participants will share experiences and projects that will inspire and support other women facing similar realities.
Taking part:
- Ramia Chaoui and Hayar Abderrahman: - Creators of the Jaima Maternal project
- Desirée Belaa: antiracism trainer
- Adoración Vargas
The event will conclude with a performance by Paloma Chen, a Valencian poet and journalist of Chinese origin.
