Amadeu Recasens i Brunet has been the commissioner for Security and Safety of Barcelona City Council since July 2015 and sits on INTERPOL’s Standing Committee on Ethical Matters. He has been director of the Police School of Catalonia and of the Research and Prospecting Bureau of the Secretary of State of the Interior under the Ministry of Justice and the Interior.
He has worked as a security consultant and expert for the United Nations, the European Union and the Council of Europe, and was one of the drafters of the European Code of Police Ethics. He is the author of several books and publications on security policies, prevention and security force organisation.
