Teatre Grec
Pg Santa Madrona, 36
This theatre, which is the focal point of the Grec Festival de Barcelona and the reason for its name, was built in the early 20th century, at a time when open-air theatres, also known in Catalan as ‘nature theatres’, were very much en vogue. It was designed by the architect Ramon Reventós and built on the site of the former Machinet quarry. Incidentally, the design was inspired by the Theatre of Epidaurus.
