Joan Manuel Soldevilla
Joan Manuel Soldevilla, born in Barcelona in 1964, teaches literature at the Institut Ramon Muntaner secondary school in Figueres and is a professor of narrative at the University of Girona. He’s a novelist and essayist and, as a Tintin expert (and consul of Syldavia in Figueres), he’s published articles in magazines and books, curated exhibitions and taught university courses. A founding member of 1001, Catalan Association of Tintin Fans, he’s the author of L’abecedari de Tintín [A Tintin ABC] (Pagès), which won the Rovelló Essay Award, Univers Hergé [Hergé’s World] (Pagès), Som i serem (tintinaires) [Tintinophiles Forever] (A Contravent), Del Quijote a Tintín [From Quijote to Tintin] (Calígrafo), and his recent Tintín era català (o això em pensava jo) [Tintin Was Catalan, Or At Least That’s What I Thought] (Brau).
