Runner services
Personal best and classification:
- Participants will be able to see their time and download the free demonstrative certificate by going to results and clicking on the box at the end of the name (only for participants with a chip).
On the day of the race:
- Official sustainable water provisions from Aigües de Barcelona.
- Provision of water at km 5 and, at the finish, of water and the isotonic drink Aquarius, courtesy of Coca-Cola.
- Cloakroom service, Pavelló d’Itàlia. Pl. Carles Buïgas. In front of the Magic Fountain from 7.00 a.m. to 11.00 a.m.
- Emergency services are on hand throughout the route and a mobile clinic will be running at the finish line, run by the Red Cross.
Childcare Service
Barcelona City Hall is committed to "the race and the caretaking". No man or woman from Barcelona should miss the Race because they have children under their care. For this reason, families participating in the Cursa de la Mercè will have a childcare service available.
Information on the service:
- Designed for children aged 3 to 11.
- Location: in an expressly designated space near the starting point.
- Schedule: starts at 7:00 a.m. and ends at 11:00 a.m. Boys and girls will be accepted until 8.15am. from this time on they cannot be left.
- To request the service: Send an email to genereiesport@bcn.cat.
- Deadline: until 23 September 2024.
At the end of the races, and after collecting their refreshments, each and every participant can enjoy the Bimbo Party in Plaça de les Cascades, where they can enjoy games, sampling Bimbo and participate in various other activities.
Health-related recommendations
- Clothing should be comfortable and breathable. In prior training and during the race, pay special attention to your feet; wear appropriate footwear.
- On the day of the race, it is advisable to protect the sensitive areas of the feet. You can also lubricate your armpits and thighs with Vaseline to avoid chafing.
- On the day of the race, it is advisable to have a light breakfast about three hours before the start of the race.
- Hydrate before and during the race.
- Pace your efforts.
- If you notice intense fatigue or muscle or joint pain during the race, it is best to stop, rest and then continue. If you do not do so, you may not be able to complete the entire distance.
Reaching the race
- It is recommended to use public transportation, both the metro (the España station has elevators) and buses.
- Everyone registered in this year's La Mercè 10K Bimbo Global Race will be able to get a free single round-trip ticket from any Cercanías Barcelona service station with ticket office sales. Valid for Sunday, September 29. The outbound trip is valid until 9:00 AM and the return trip is valid at any time of the day.
- There is the possibility to reserve parking for people with reduced mobility who participate in the La Mercè Bimbo Global Race. This space is located on Lleida Street, between Rius i Taulet Avenue and Joaquim Blume Street. It is essential to have a disability parking card.
- If you are a person with functional diversity, you will have a reserved parking spot from 07:00h to 11:30h.
