The race will donate all the proceeds from registration fees and an extra contribution for each white chip recovered to this social organisation.
This year, the proceeds from the registrations of La Mercè Bimbo Global Race will be entirely donated to the Associació in via. This social organisation, founded in Barcelona 70 years ago, works on the prevention and eradication of conditions of inequality and abuse that generate violence and discrimination, with a special focus on male violence, through comprehensive care and support for women, children, young people, families, and vulnerable groups.
Specifically, there will be two types of contributions. On the one hand, the Associació in via will receive the proceeds from the registrations and, in addition, for each white chip that runners return at the end of the race, an additional 80 cents will be donated.
The collection of the white chips is an act of environmental awareness to fight against the pollution caused by their components and an opportunity for all the people who participate in La Mercè Bimbo Global Race to join in this gesture of solidarity.
To this end, baskets will be set up at the finish line to collect the white chips. If someone is unable to participate in the race, the chip can be returned during the following week by post or in person to the Institut Barcelona Esports, located at Avinguda del Estadi, 40, 08038, Barcelona.
COLLABORATION WITH THE FOOD BANK
In addition to this solidarity collaboration, Bimbo, main sponsor of this edition, will provide 20 slices of bread for each registered runner, which will be donated to the Food Bank of Barcelona.
Registration for La Mercè Bimbo Global Race is now open, so don't miss this unique opportunity to enjoy an exciting race and be part of making a positive change in the community!.
