The neighbourhood's festa major takes place over four or five days in the middle of June. It finishes on Saint John's day and starts the previous weekend. There is a whole host of activities for all kinds of people of all ages.

The festa major, which locals call "the Bacanals", is held round Sant Joan and lasts three or four days. Most of the activities take place round Plaça de la Marina, one of the central points of the neighbourhood.

The neighbourhood's festa major, its main festival, takes place in the second fortnight in July. The activities are divided among several emblematic spaces, including Plaça del Sortidor, Plaça de les Tres Xemeneies and the Molino theatre.

One of the main characteristics of the festival is that the neighbourhood's residents' associations decorate the streets and squares. But also very important is popular culture, which is present in various forms.

Bordeta's festa major, its main festival, is, in fact, the party of one street and two squares. These three centres each organise their own events, and on the last day of the festival they hold a joint event.

The Federació d’Associacions, Entitats i Comissions d’Hostafrancs collective organises the festa major. The federation has come up with a modern design for the festival, although it still respects tradition.
