The Agency is attached to the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge through the State Secretariat for the Environment. The purpose of the State Meteorological Agency is the development, implementation, and provision of meteorological services within the State's jurisdiction and supporting the implementation of other public policies and private activities, to contribute to the safety of people and property, and to the welfare and sustainable development of Spanish society.
