
La Marina del Prat Vermell
The transformation of the Marina del Prat Vermell and its surroundings is one of the great projects that the city will face in the immediate future. It is a long-term development plan and therefore the management and monitoring of its implementation will be of vital importance in the context of a strategic vision such as the one proposed in the Coastal Plan.
The strategic and management instruments that regulate the transformation process in the area formed by the La Marina neighbourhoods should have an impact on the connection and integration of the area with its surroundings, in addition to promoting social and spatial cohesion and participative development. A full road map should also be proposed, for both the short and long term, in order to guarantee urban management adapted to the reality of the territory in such fundamental issues as habitat, the quality of the urban areas, and the connection of the area with the surrounding areas and the coastline.


What are we doing?

Planning and management: The Urban Improvement Plans (PMUs) for sectors S2, S3, S6, S8, S9, S10 and S14 have been definitively approved.

Land parcelling: Land parcelling has been definitively approved for sectors S3, S2, S8.1, S10 and S14 (pending modification), while the parcelling projects have been initiated for sectors S6 and S9.

Residential and non-residential development: A total of 2,344 housing units have been built, are under construction or have licences (1,135 social housing units, 1,137 free-market units and 72 definitely approved). In addition, licences have been issued or are being issued for nearly 30,000 m² of non-residential space. Organisations include the Pere Tarrés Foundation, which has obtained a licence for 14,400 m² of space.

Development: 27,484 m² of roads and 13,384 m² of green space have been completed in sectors 8 and 10. Currently, 22,800 m² of roads and 7,200 m² of green space are under construction in Sector 3.

Public spaces and infrastructure:
- Completion of 13 Roses Park, with an area of 17,950 m².
- Start of works for the new Green Point.
- Opening and development of Carrer Ferro between Carrer Arnés and Carrer Plom.
