The coastal plan
The Strategic Plan for the city’s coastal areas is a planning instrument that aims to organise and manage all the urban areas of the city’s seafront. It has a time frame of 10 years, it is based on an extensive diagnosis and it is materialised in a series of projects and strategic actions along the city’s coastline.

NEW BOOST FOR BARCELONA’S BLUE ECONOMY
Barcelona's maritime advancement strategy supports the blue economy by providing complementary public facilities resulting from the legacy of the America’s Cup, which consist of:
- The Maritime Technology Park. Strategic public initiative facility linked to marine
- The Blue Tech Port. Innovation hub focusing on the blue economy
- Barcelona Sea of Science. Experimental environment devoted to the ocean and public engagement
