Conservation - Restoration
The museum’s team of conservators-restorers is tasked with looking after the collections, archaeological sites and historical buildings that make up the network of heritage centres curated by the MUHBA.
Our priority is to apply a preventive conservation policy based on the periodic monitoring and maintenance of the heritage assets and on improving their environment (control of relative humidity, temperature, pollutants, lighting, etc.).
Any objects that so require are submitted to remedial conservation and restoration treatments based on an exhaustive study of the piece, its specific problems and history.
All processes are exhaustively documented, and there are numerous publications available related to this area.
