Montjuïc cable car and funicular to close for annual technical inspection
The Montjuïc cable car and funicular will be temporarily closed to the public whilst the mandatory annual inspections and fine-tuning of all the installations’ elements are carried out. The cable car will be closed from Monday 3 February. The funicular, from the following Monday, 10 February. They will both reopen on Monday 3 March.
During the Montjuïc cable car inspection works, Transports de Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB) recommends customers use the line 150 bus service (Plaça d’Espanya – Montjuïc Castle), which operates 7 days’ a week from 7.00 am to 9.00 pm.
The other cable transport service operated by TMB, the Montjuïc funicular, which runs between the Paral·lel metro station (L2 and L3) and Parc de Montjuïc, will be replaced with a special bus service during the planned closure. This will operate to the same timetable as the funicular (Monday to Friday, 7.30 am to 8.00 pm, and Saturday, Sunday and public holidays, 9.00 am to 8.00 pm). The bus stops will be duly signposted and members of staff will be on the ground to let service users know where the special bus stop is located.
