Journalist and writer
(Barcelona, 1961). Graduate in Catalan Philology (University of Barcelona) and Information Sciences (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona).
For 25 years, he has been the head of linguistics at La Vanguardia, first of the Spanish edition and, since 2011, also of the Catalan one. In fact, he managed the multidisciplinary team that launched the Catalan version of the newspaper. He coordinated the style guides in Spanish and Catalan and, since 2018, he has been editor of the Culture section. He publishes the weekly section “Lletra petita” [Small Print], in which he addresses language issues related to current affairs. This experience led to the book Parla’m amb estil [Talk to me in Style] (Eumo, 2020). In the realm of fiction, he has published the collection of humorous stories Sucamulla [Bread with Wine and Sugar, a typical Catalan dessert] (Univers, 2022). He is a lecturer in journalistic translation in the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting at Pompeu Fabra University and a member of the Institut d’Estudis Catalans, assigned to the Philological Section.
