(Yambol, Bulgaria, 1968) He is the International Booker Prize-winning author of Time Shelter. The novel has been published in more than 35 languages. Gospodinov gained international recognition with his previous novels Natural Novel and The Physics of Sorrow.
He has several books of short stories, poetry, non-fiction, theatre plays, a graphic novel The Eternal Fly, a libretto for Space Opera, screenplays and social videos. He is the winner of the Premio Strega Europeo (2021), the Usedom Prize for European Literature (2021), the Central European Angelus Award (2019) and the Jan Michalski Prize (2016), among others. His complex narratives engage with the memory of the recent Eastern European past and the present anxieties of Europe and the world.
