Theater specialist
He is a member of the Historical-Archaeological Section of the Institut d’Estudis Catalans and specialises in the history and reception of contemporary Catalan and international theatre, with studies on figures such as Pin i Soler, Guimerà, Sagarra, Espriu, Brossa, Benet i Jornet, Belbel and Rodoreda, as well as Ibsen, Molnár, Cocteau, Beckett, Shaw, Wilder, Wesker and Fo, among others.
He has been a part-time lecturer and later a tenured Professor of Catalan Literature at the University of Barcelona (1976-1993) and a Professor of Catalan Literature and the History of Translations at Pompeu Fabra University (1993-2021).
