Poblenou Centre Park
Type: Installation
Audience: All ages
The ÀNIMA light installation takes a closer look at the origins of the Poblenou neighbourhood. This neighbourhood had been the most important industrial power in Barcelona, and therefore Catalonia, since the start of the 19th century.
Hence the aim here to create a relic of the past and reproduce one of its three most symbolic chimneys. Built out of transparent material, it takes the spectator to the soul of a neighbourhood that had long been an ugly, very noisy and polluted industrial zone.
However, Poblenou has grown over the years, with its factory patina and noise long gone, to become the major artistic and cultural area that today houses the Llum BCN.
