Singer-songwriter and guitarist Kurt Wagner is the centre around which the band revolves. Since the nineties, when they were formed near Nashville, Lambchop, a crucial band in American music today, have played what may be close to alt country music, but also drinks from a thousand and one sources of inspiration, including soul and blues from Wagner’s home town of Memphis. In short, a melting pot of influences, what many prefer to call simply Americana. Whatever we choose to call their style, Lambchop have won fans all over the world, fascinated by their unique sound and their deep yet humorous songs. In 2012, they released their eleventh album, titled Mr. M, presenting a series of meditations on love, loss and the little miseries of everyday life. Some believe that Lambchop are one of the least conventional and most original bands to have emerged in the US in the nineties. Come and find out why.
