Games, irony and humour aplenty in a musical show performed by a choral ensemble celebrating its fiftieth anniversary. A production to delight both young and old, based on Catalan poetic texts.
Nothing goes together better than music and poetry. Proof can be seen in this production by the Cantiga dels Lluïsos de Gràcia choir, which features compositions that take their inspiration from works by both classical poets, including Joan Maragall, and one of the most avant-garde writers of the moment, Enric Casasses. For, to celebrate its anniversary, the Coral Cantiga will perform a version of La tonalitat de l’infinit, a cantata based on “Cantània”, a participatory experience at L’Auditori, with a mixed choir interpreting music by Feliu Gasull and texts by Casasses, in a theatrical production by Ignasi Tomàs and Grup de Teatre de Roses. The programme also features La mar, a suite of five songs by Albert Guinovart with words by Joan Maragall. The classical and the modern, then, in a concert for which both Guinovart and Gasull have composed new versions of their works.
