Marcos Martín
Marcos Martín, born in Barcelona in 1972, is a Catalan comic artist who has worked with Marvel and DC and won the Eisner Award on two occasions, most recently for The Private Eye, with a script by Brian K. Vaughan and illustrations and colour by Muntsa Vicente, created after he founded the Panel Syndicate online platform. The same creative team has published the exquisite miniseries Barrier and The Walking Dead: The Alien, and Panel Syndicate has opened up to renowned authors such as Ken Niimura, David López and Albert Monteys. Again with Muntsa Vicente, now joined by the acclaimed scriptwriter Ed Brubaker, seven-time winner of the Eisner Award, Martín has just published the first Catalan-language instalments of the successful teenage detective series Friday, made up of Friday, The First Day of Christmas and On a Cold Winter’s Night.
