An armband is a leather or metal forearm protection that has traditionally been used in combat and gala events. For example, the leader of this workshop, author and designer Raquel Gili, has created science fiction armbands inspired by Frank Herbert’s Dune saga, galactic Mandalorian-themed armbands and fantasy/flight armbands inspired by Rebecca Yarros’s Empyrean saga. In this two-hour workshop, free of charge but limited to 15 people, Gili, who is also a designer of handcrafted literary swords and shields, will teach participants how to create a leather-embossed armband featuring dragon touches and a style somewhere between narrative and fantasy. Come away with your very own unique armband and a visual story of fantasy worlds!
