José Ovejero

José Ovejero, born in Madrid in 1958, has lived most of his life outside Spain, mainly in Germany and Belgium, and has written poetry, essays, travelogues, short stories and novels. He’s received awards such as the City of Irún Award for Biografía del explorador [Biography of the Explorer], the Grandes Viajeros for China para hipocondríacos [China for Hypochondriacs], the Primavera for Las vidas ajenas [Other Lives], the Gómez de la Serna for La comedia salvaje [The Savage Comedy], the Anagrama for La ética de la crueldad [The Ethics of Cruelty] and the Alfaguara for La invención del amor. [The Invention of Love]. With Galaxia Gutenberg, he’s ventured into new literary territories in Los ángeles feroces [The Ferocious Angels], La seducción  [The Seduction] and Insurrección [Insurrection]. Following Mientras estamos muertos [While We’re Dead], which won the Dulce Chacón Award, he recently published Vibración [Vibration] (Galaxia Gutenberg), about a girl drawn to a mysterious swamp.
