Jordi Solé Camardons
Jordi Solé Camardons, born in Oliana in 1959, is a secondary school teacher of Catalan language and literature, has worked as a Language, Interculturality and Social Cohesion (LIC) consultant and has been a driving force behind eco-linguistic publications and organisations. In 2010, he founded Voliana Edicions. One of the drivers of the Catalan Society for Science Fiction and Fantasy (SCCFF), he’s published 23 books on sociolinguistics and language, as well as biographies, dictionaries and poetry. Science fiction titles include Les paraules del futur [The Words of the Future], the Jules Verne Award-winning Els silencis d’Eslet [Eslet’s Silences], Didàctica de la literatura de ciència-ficció [Didactics of Science Fiction Literature], La síndrome del estranys sons [The Syndrome of Strange Sounds] and Planeta mut [Mute Planet]. In 2024 he published an essay criticising the onslaught of dystopian fiction, Malsons i somnis del futur [Nightmares and Dreams of the Future] (Voliana).
