FLY OR DIE: REBECCA YARROS’S 'EMPYREAN' MAGIC
There’s no question that the global literary phenomenon of 2024 has been the addictive Empyrean saga by American author Rebecca Yarros, who’s won herself millions of readers around the world with Fourth Wing and Iron Flame. The third instalment, Onyx Storm, is coming in 2025. At a festival that highlights YA fantasy literature, and in an edition where the central exhibition is devoted to dragons, there’s no way we were going to leave out a series about dragon riders that features an enemies-to-lovers plotline and a complex system of magic, but we couldn’t have anticipated including it in such spectacular fashion: an online conversation with none other than Rebecca Yarros herself, live at the 42 Festival, in a one-of-a-kind event that will be followed in real time throughout all of Latin America in collaboration with Latam. The event, which will be presented by Planeta editor Maria Guitart and moderated by Antena 3 journalist Marta Sasot, will be an opportunity to learn all the secrets of Violet, Xaden, Navarre, dark magic, the Basgiath War College, the conflict between dragons and griffins... and, of course, the upcoming Amazon series. Of course, you’ll be able to watch it online, but... well, we don’t know how much we can tell you, but let’s just say that if you come to the 42 Festival, the 300 people who will be able to enter the venue just may be in for a special treat.
