David Roas

David Roas, born in Barcelona in 1965, is an author, professor and lecturer at the University of Alcalá, and one of the leading experts, cultivators and theorists of the fantastic genre, which he’s explored for years in his prestigious Fantastic Studies Group at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). His published works include the essays Tras los límites de lo real [In Pursuit of the Limits of Reality] and Fantástico y humor en la ficción española contemporánea [The Fantastic and Humour in Contemporary Spanish Fiction] and his short-story collections, including Stenil Award-winning Distorsiones [Distortions] and Niños [Children] (both published by Páginas de Espuma). Recently, he co-directed the Shirley Jackson anthology Todavía vivimos en el castillo [We Still Live in the Castle] (Apache).
